I'm not much of a pattern person, but damn do I love some houndstooth: all about the black + white combo. Comfiest skirt from & Other Stories [gifted] paired with a simple bodysuit & that bloody jacket I've worn a thousand times: note, they have released a new colour-way: so all is not lost if you were eyeing this up & need it in your life.

date night
Date night last weekend - in which we couldn't really capture the outfit [thank you, January, for your lack of light past 3:35pm & rainy nature] nevertheless - I present these here images for you.
Appreciate you cannot see the outfit at all well, but we need to talk about the trousers. You gotta take my word for it, but these high-waist, pocket featuring, wide leg trousers from & Other Stories are an absolute new fav - I cannot recommend them enough. They are so high waist [not mid-rise, which I so often find] so damn comfortable & flattering. Adore.

Sometimes, I take a break from #allblackeverything & hit up some neutral tones.
I've worn this coat approx. 7,439 times thus far - it's my trusty school-run bud & excellent for layering. Although quite light, the long length keeps the warmth in & I love the belt tie.
Distressed white tee, black denim & boots = complete.

There was something v.peaceful about the heavy rain last weekend. Granted, it's a pain, & I never exactly wish for it, but with no real social plans & a weekend filled with time with my family [& coffee] it was actually...kinda nice.
Cool enough for my fav coat, but not too cool for a cropped sweater: this, guys...is my kinda autumn weather.

A/W'18 KEY PIECES: PART I
ana05
September 05, 2018
And Other Stories, autumn, Gucci, TopShop
No comments
We're approaching my absolute fav time of year.
For dressing, especially. However. You know it - I am another one of those girls that obsesses over the change in colours, leaves falling, crisp mornings...and, of course - Hallowe'en. Obvs.
I tend to reach for the same array of items every Sept/Oct - & whilst I love to invest in new pieces, I wear the same items from years ago - or style them in new ways. I love to 'upgrade' a piece I've been loving, too. Example: first time I bought a loafer it wasn't the Gucci one. I kinda road tested a TopShop loafer, to see how much I wore that style...then saved up for the real deal...that kinda thing. I digress...
Let's get into some key pieces. Part I:
KILLER BOOT
Pretty much my go-to all year, but esp. Sept-Jan. For me, imperative features include: being super comfortable, warm & versatile. A snake embossed on the back is an added bonus.
Key Styles:
Gucci - Sylvie
Jeffrey Campbell - Check Lace-Up
Dr. Martens - Molly
Calvin Klein - Claire
Ganni - Callie
R13 - Gloss-Leather
EASY-TO-STYLE COAT
A coat you can style with everything - it keeps you warm, can handle layers underneath, has pockets...The kinda timeless piece you'll always wear.
Key Styles:
& Other Stories - Over-Sized
& Other Stories - Belted Wool
& Other Stories - A-Line Wool
Tibi - Denim Stretch
TopShop - Boucle Button Front
Acne - Checked Wool
CHECKED SKIRT
Nothing says autumn like checks & plaid: nothing. A mini skirt you can go tight-less with rn, and then add tights + long socks to as the chill creeps in. Love it with a chunky boot.
Key Styles:
TopShop - Yellow Mini
TopShop - Mixed Buckle
Versace - Pleated Patchwork
Tomas Maier - Checked Cotton
Free People - High Waist Plaid
Maje - Wrap-Effect Tartan
McQ Alexander McQueen - Wool-Blend
H & M - Checked Skirt
*pls don't take these posts as 'OMG I-need-to-go-and-buy-22813-things', but more - how can I use what I have? Do I need or really want a new coat? Which, say, two items should I invest in? Etc, etc. Ly, bye*

A Camel Coat & A Saddle Bag
It's happening: the transition.
Grab a coat, light layers & your fav boots - autumn is in the post. AKA: my fav time of year for dressing.
I have this & Other Stories coat in black, from last year, and it's honestly become one of my most versatile + used items. I was after the camel version due to my love affair w/ the black, but it sold out before I got my hands on it...Fortunately I spied it again this season - thus I snapped it up - sharp.
A simple varsity style sweater, fav jeans, CK boots and yes - you know it, the new Dior Saddle bag - this is a look I'll be replicating multiple times this season.

Sometimes you put something together and love it immediately - that happened with the above. Granted, it's a white tee situ & you can't go too far wrong, but - ya know. The jacket really ups the ante, right?
I have always been obsessed with souvenir/Sukajan jackets - and I'm not precious about them having to be vintage (esp when so many are huge, sizing wise) My eyes properly lit up when I spied the green of this Kooples number - combined with the cut and stripes down the sleeves: it was a must-have sale win for me.

And Other Stories, Coola, Cult Beauty, Herbivore, Summer Fridays
No comments
Let's talk summer beauty guys.
I wanted to put together some beauty posts, every couple of months, featuring a minimal group of products - game-changing beauty and skincare products - that I have personally become obsessed with.
If you're into that, keep on reading...
Ok, so this one has received a hell of a lot of hype - and I can see why. This multipurpose product ticks a lot of boxes, and gets some extra mega kudos for beautiful packaging. I've been applying a thin layer every evening as the last step in my skincare routine; but I've also been loving it as an under-eye primer, and bit of pick-me up hydration, if I take my make-up off early in the day. It's (finally) available in the UK via the best, Cult Beauty - although you need to join the waitlist as it's already sold out...Get on it.
Can I just say, I A-D-O-R-E Herbivore. I've been using a few of their products for the last couple of months (shout out to Moon Fruit & the Rose Hydrating Mist) and I've enjoyed them all. The Lapis Oil is the one I want to mention more in depth - I've become enamoured with the smell of this magical blue stuff, to the point where it feels comforting now. It feels incredibly hydrating on my face, and like it is really smoothing out my skin. It boosts a number of key benefits - the blue formulation is great for balancing out oily skin without drying it out, and it is rich in jasmine & jojoba oil. Perfect for combination, oily, and blemish-prone skin - and if you suffer with redness and a bit of inflammation, too; this oil is your saviour.
I bought this whilst I was rushing around central London a couple of weeks ago - I usually carry a mini-perfume or spray w/ me when I know I'll be in town for hours on end, and of course, I'd forgotten one, so ran into the nearest store to grab something. I picked up this mist, and damn - I loveee it. The smell is like that of a tropical, getaway vacation. Super handy to carry around for a mid-afternoon spritz (esp. handy if you can't afford a casual trip to the Caribbean this summer)
I am all about sun protection, for obvious reasons that I won't crack on about (except to say - skin cancer - guys, let's not help it along). My facial creams that I apply bright and early in the morning have SPF, however I am so conscious that these will wear off continually throughout the day, leaving with me with prob zero protection from those rays on ma face. Entire the Coola Facial Spray - how genius to have a setting spray that contains SPF, for easy top-ups every couple of hours; without any need for removing make-up? I for one, am totally sold.
